As a child psychologist, I provide compassionate and creative counselling services for children (6 – 11 years), who experience a range of difficulties, including

  • Difficulties with temper or anger outbursts
  • Caught up in fear or worry
  • Childhood anxiety disorders
  • ADHD
  • Experiencing difficulties relating to peers
  • Living with the effects of trauma or stress
  • Difficulties adjusting to changes in the family, like separation, loss or relocation

Child counselling is for any child who is having a hard time growing up, and could use some extra support to grow and develop through childhood.

I draw on the latest developments in psychology and use creative techniques that engage children’s imagination. The main approaches I use when working with children include:

  • Narrative Therapy
  • Art and Play Therapy
  • Mindfulness Therapy

You can read more about these approaches on the ‘My Approach’ page.

Some of the benefits of child counselling may include:

  • Discover new skills and strategies for dealing with problems
  • Support healing from trauma and stress
  • Develop better relationships with peers and family
  • Build on strengths and talents
  • Overcome issues such as childhood anxiety disorder or ADHD
